Saint or Sinner?

As I mentioned last week, ABC is about to kick off a series on Nightline about the Ten Commandments. They’ve put a little quiz Saint or Sinner together to promote the show.

After honestly answering the questions, ABC tells me that I am an “Earth Angel” because I am trying to do right.

Sorry ABC, but “trying to do right” is not enough. Scripture tells me that my sins will earn me nothing but death (Romans 6:23) and the wrath of God (Romans 5:9).

Thankfully, I have a mighty Savior, Jesus Christ, who shed his blood for me while I was still a sinner. (Romans 5:8)

Again I ask, will Nightline present an accurate picture of the fallen state of mankind and the salvation offered in Christ? Or will ABC present a moralistic, Pelagian fantasy world? I am not optimistic.

Save Your Marriage, Have an Affair

So says the founder of AshleyMadison.com a website designed to help destroy marriages.

Ed Young will debate Noel Biderman, founder of AshleyMadison.com on Thursday night. According to Fellowship Church Ed will have a unique opportunity to deliver God’s truth about this topic to an international stage. Filming begins at 6:30 and all the details are on Fellowship Church’s website.

ABC plans to use the debate in its new Nightline series about the Ten Commandments set to begin on September 24. According to ABC, the series explores the Biblical commandments from modern day perspective. Will God be glorified or will this series continue to misrepresent the Living God of the Universe?

Let’s all pray that Ed Young faithfully presents the Word of God to a lost and depraved world.
