By now, most everyone has heard about Natalie’s comments about our President, George W. Bush. Needless to say, the comments has set off a fire storm of backlash, especially here in Texas.
“…we’re ashamed the President of the United States is from Texas.”
Yes, Natalie has the right to speak her mind freely. No one can deny her that. But claiming that one is ashamed of their President being from Texas! Come on girl. You are a Texan. You are a country music star. Bush is a Texan and former governor of the state. He is overwhelmingly supported in Texas (excluding Austin) by your biggest fans. What were you thinking?
What concerns us most is the fact that Natalie and so many others speaking out on the war are so uninformed. Those opposed to action against Iraq cry out to give Saddam another chance. Well, how many should we give the man? He has never lived up to the truce that ended 1991’s Desert Storm War. 17 resolutions have been passed over the past 12 years! When will it be enough?
Those on the left pressing for more time remind us of parents who refuse to allow their children to suffer any consequences. You know the ones, always making excuses, giving them chance after chance, constantly bailing the child out. Actions have consequences people. It is time to lay down the law.
