Mike Ribeiro Pregame Warm-up

I love to watch Mike Ribeiro play hockey. He is a magician with the puck and his confidence seems to grow every game.

Early season mastery in Los Angeles:

An amazing move (this one didn’t go in):

Another shoot-out goal in Phoenix:

Ribeiro went between the legs in a game last month:

And last night he added this gem:

Ribeiro and the Stars have one last game tonight. Let’ s hope they can wreck the Ducks plans one more time.

Update: Here is Ribeiro’s postgame audio talking about his goal last night.

“All of these teams have become businesses in the past 20 years,” Hicks said. ” … This business has to do with fan affinity and brand devotion. It doesn’t necessarily have to do with winning.”

This is from Tom Hicks owner of the Dallas Stars and Texas Rangers. The Dallas Business Journal reported this last Friday. Why haven’t I heard about this until now? Why hasn’t this been all over local media? I haven’t heard it. Tim MacMahon just posted this at 12:43pm today over at stars.beloblog.com

This only confirms everything we have suspected for some time now. Bob and Dan have been all over Hicks for years now (Search Bob’s Blog for Tom Hicks payroll). Bob, just let me know what segment you will dissect this on Friday!

Please, will someone buy these teams from Tom Hicks!!!

American-born Mike Modano and Jeff Halpern each scored a goal to power the Stars past the Canucks. Marty Turco stopped every shot again for his thrid shut-out of the series.

The Stars may have some injury problems with Morrow and Zubov. I’m listening to the Dallas Stars Playoff Postgame Show on The Ticket right now waiting for updates on their condition.

I’ll update a bit later. I’ve got some laundry to fold!

One of the memorable scenes from the game is Brenden Morrow skating off the ice on one-leg and then battling Alex Burrows on the Canucks bench. Standing on one leg Brenden Morrow battles the Canucks bench.

[Updated] I never made it back to update his post. So here is a link to Bob Sturm’s analysis of the Stars 2-0 win.

Brenden Morrow Celebrates Winning Goal

The Dallas Stars finally have gotten the monkey off their back with an overtime win in Vancouver. Brenden Morrow tipped home the winning power-play goal. What a great game. The Stars stay alive and come back to Dallas down 3-2.

What a great ending to my 35th birthday!

See the video highlights of the Stars victory.
