Our prayers go out to you and hope that all is OK with everyone.

Welcome Molly Elizabeth

April 29, 2004

It all began about 4am when Shannon woke me from the couch — her water had broken. Molly wasn’t due until May 24th, so needless to say we were not ready for this!

Molly's statistics

I don’t believe the height is accurate.

Molly and her proud parents Eric and Shannon

Two proud parents

God’s wonderful creation.

Molly and her big sister Emma

Molly meets her big sister.

Oh yes, it is true — I fainted during the epidural. How embarrasing.

Day-Care Deaths

August 22, 2003

For the second time this summer a Texas child has been killed while under the care of day-care providers. In this case, 8 month old Jordan Thomas was left in the back of a drivers Suburban for over seven hours. Temperatures neared 100 degrees outside while the baby baked in the heat of the vehicle.

What is really disturbes me in this case is the boy was said to be left in the back of the Suburban. Was he left in his car seat? Or was he simply lying in the back on the floor? We don’t know. No television reporter has talked about this to my knowledge. The DallasNew.com article does not make mention of this, while the Star-Telegram article offers this It was not clear if the boy was in a car seat anchored inside the vehicle.

How on earth anyone can forget a child in a vehicle is beyond me, but I am willing to accept that it was a mistake. However, if the child was not even in a car seat, I really have doubts about the driver. It is absolutely unconsciable to have so little regard for the life and safety of a child.

Protecting Life

May 28, 2003

Great news! Prenatal protection in Texas is almost here. The Senate and House have passed the legislation. Now, Rick Perry needs to sign the bill.
