SBC looking to add DirecTV

Profits are down 20 percent over the past yars and 20,000 employees have lost their jobs, but San Antonio-based SBC is talking about buying DirecTV. What the heck for? Didn’t they learn anything from AT&T’s experience with TCI and MediaOne?

SBC should be more concerned about its obsolete technology and business model rather than billion dollar acquisitions.
