Dumping Verizon DSL

August 27, 2003

I have had nothing but problems with my Verizon DSL service for months now. After learning that the 26-gauge line to my home would never provide the DSL quality I expected and paid for, I determined to switch to Comcast and a cable modem. The line was hooked up this morning and here I am, enjoying high-speed, always-on, broadband Internet access!

I only wish it was that easy. The self-install CD failed to create my account correctly. I had to hold for nearly 20 minutes to speak with a tech who walked me through the manual account setup process and the various proxy servers they use.
