Chante Mallard is now one of the most infamous people in America. The story is all over the news and the Internet. I think Texas should push for the death penalty for Mallard and her coconspirators. One of the most unbelievable details of the story is that Mallard is a nurse’s aid! Maybe Dr. Death Kevorkian needs an assistant?
Read the Arrest Warrant Affadavit from The Somking Gun.

Agree with you 1,000%. This is a hate crime and should be given the same treatment as the James Byrd murder in 1998. Thank goodness for the Smoking Gun, and you, posting the facts.
They’re not even TRYING to get the death penalty. 4 years to life. I don’t know if it is a hate crime or not, but I DO know if situations were reversed it would be considered one. The story is already being muffled. The “I hit this white man” quote is often not mentioned. Will Greg Biggs become a mass media martyr like James Byrd, or Mat Shepard,? yeah right. I have almost as much disgust for the mass news media as I do for that woman.
Today there was testimony that any basic firefighter could have saved the man with very little medical training. That means a nurse or aid or whatever she was could have done the same.
Oh well, I’m sure the guy didn’t suffer much laying through a windshield, dying, right? Spending his last few minutes having to look at the ugly [*** ***] that just ran him over must have just been an added bonus.
The fact of the matter is the [******] and her [******] friends decided that there was a chance to get away with it if they waited and dumped the body. Ah well, it was a good try, but it didn’t work SO FRY THE [******] thnx.
Thanks for dropping by James, but that type of language will not be tolerated here.
I think this is a tragedy everywhere you turn. You would think there would be
more media coverage instead of quick blurbs. People need to see this stuff and realize
consequences get worse. Unfortunately, if she were white and the homeless man was black, we would
be seeing this on “Larry King Live” every other night!!! AND THATS THE WAY IT IS!
Mia
This was not a hate crime! A foolish black woman hit a homeless white man while high on drugs and booze. Deep stupidity, fear, and for sure – caring less, lead her to decide to let him pass away as if just a bad high, she and her friends then attempt a coverup. It didn’t matter that he was white, she would have let a black homeless man die too, and her friends would have dumped his body too.
In contrast, James Byrd was picked up, beaten, tied to a truch via thick metal chain and knowingly dragged ike a dog, till his head came off! All because he was black. How do the two even compare at all?!
Anger tends to bring out the most unthinking of statements from persons, from all walks of life.
Yes this woman is guilty! Yes she deserves jail time, a long time helluva yes, but life?! No I don’t think so.
There are people walking the streets that have gotten off that deserved more punishment than this woman. Those that have killed children’s minds thru years of molestation, those that have raped on more than one occasion, those that have killed several people while driving under the influence–after being arrested, arrested, arrested, license taken away, and they still didn’t stop drinking and driving! There are those that have beaten their wives to bloody grotesque messes that are yet free, beating other females! But some of you would see this woman in jail for the rest of her life?! How thoughtless can you be?
Is this desire of yours brought on possibly, just possibly, because she is a black woman? Is it the innermost tendancy of us, white men, women and children to see blacks suffer the most punishment available, whenever and at all costs, for whatever crime they are found guilty of? Is it not a fact, white men and women are deemed more save-worthy in this society, versus rotting in prison, but a black person is deemed more worthy of thee most prison time, “just get him-her out of society!”? Is it not true that there is a deeply rooted & taught insight amongst us whites, this passed down one generation to the next, that blacks, though not found guilty of anything as of yet, most likely can be or will be found or caught in the act of being guilty of something, somewhere eventually? Makes one not want to be white.

I think that the death penalty would be too kind. I hope for life without parole.
Deena,
The solution is not to allow Chante to get off with a light sentence, but to make certain that justice is applied equally regardless of race or income.
I personally think that the solution would be to have a separate punishment phase after the trial where all names are removed and replaced by generic terms and all references to race or gender that are irrevelant are removed (a relevant reference would be the male defendant was found guilty of raping the female victim). Having an independent committee assign punishment without knowing anything about the individuals involved should guarantee fair and equal punishment.
Let’s see . . . she got drunk, caused an accident that seriously injured someone. Instead of going for help, she drove home, tried to cover up the situation, and by her inaction let the victim die.
She should either go to jail, or be elected U.S. Senator from Massachusetts.
Chante Mallard didn’t purposely run down the guy because he was white, she was high and drunk to the point where she couldnít have been able to see. So the man couldnít be saved, but from there she couldíve 1) called the police and admitted the crime, or 2) try to cover it up. Either way she probably wouldíve gotten 50 years. The big difference between most people and Chante is that she went back to the same routine that got her in all the trouble to begin with where everybody else wouldíve changed. Let it be a lesson, before you get behind the wheel of a car, make sure you are totally straight to drive and you know what you are doing.
Not a hate crime? While certainly nowhere near the level of the heinous Byrd crime, this one is open to debate. There were really three crimes: the accident itself (being “high on drugs & booze” is no excuse), the failure to render aid (“deep stupidity and fear” are no excuse) and the cover up (having stupid friends is no excuse). The hate crime in my mind is the BRAGGING about it to her friends – yes, she was bragging about hitting a white man, like that made it OK, perhaps even funny. That raises the second crime – failure to render aid – to the level of a hate crime. It tells you more about her state of mind than we are led to believe by those who say she was “messed up” and scared. We’re talking about months after the fact when she made that statement.
What I find truly odd is that I’ve read about this case with interest since the story first broke, and tonight is the first time I ever saw the “killed a white man” quote. I couldn’t figure out how they caught on to her. This woman is such a dope – she almost got away with it, but she had to brag about it and it cost her, because her friends were not like her – they knew it was murder and they didn’t care that the victim was white. They just knew that he was a person who deserved better.
The Byrd case was 100% pure hate, no doubt. But this case has a degree of hate about it. Who’s to say that she would not have rendered aid to a black man? You can speculate, but that doesn’t make it is so. The bragging about “killing a white man” certainly doesn’t add any credibility to that argument.
Her actions are shocking, but what really gets me is how absolutely stupid she is. What a dope!
This is NOT a case of murder! What she did is certainly a heinous crime, consisting of involuntary manslaughter, failure to provide aid to a dying person, and tampering with evidence. She should receive maximally severe punishments for each of these crimes. But where’s the murder? Murder requires causing injury to a person with the intent to harm. There was no intent to harm here. There was, rather, a failure to render needed aid. That’s the crime, not murder. Injury and death resulted that were not intended: that’s involuntary manslaughter, not murder. A cover-up followed: that’s tampering with evidence, not murder!
speaking as a 36 year old black woman, i woulsd like to say several thinga. the first being, i am very sorry for the loss of mr.biggs. secondly, i think chante did a terrible thing, one that i cannot imagine doing myself. i think if it were my father i would want to ring her neck, on the other hand, if she were my daughter, i’d want her life spared. hyprocite, it could be said, but there is nough sadness to go around. but chante, caused the sadness that we all feel.sadness is colorless. i hope the bigg’s familly finds peace and closure. i hope chante can someday come to grips with what she’s done to so many people.

It’s amazing how quick everyone is to jump on the bandwagon nowadays. Great post joe d. I was wodering how she was charged with murder myself? It was a terrible thing. Death has been around since the beginning of time but when faced with it or forced to be a part of it people just can not handle the reality of it. This combined with the cover up I believe resulted in the harsh sentencing. Wow!! What will this country be like once we build and live in that safe sanitary bubble that alot of people are pushing towards, especially after the event of 9/11. In a country fueled by the fast buck with people getting paid millions by juries because of that persons own stupidity. Vengeful juries that we have seen lately asking for harsher sentences. One sentence for everone in America “Wake the &*%$ up!!!!!!”.
I thought that Chante was a victim of drugs and friends and bad judgement until I read the police report. She was capable of compassion even stoned out of her mind on a fairly regular basis but not on that night when it was a life or death situation caused by her own hand and no one was watching? Her friend “T” who gave her the drug, told her she was incapable of driving yet let her drive home, was the same friend she called for help after she hit this poor man. What advice does this “friend” offer? -”Let’s get out of here.” Later this friend returns and helps remove the body along with two stupid guys. One of whom was at least smart enough to talk the “T” out of burning the body.
Everyone goes on with their druggie lives for a while until drunken Chante talks at a party and someone who has some sense hears about it, does the right thing and calls 5-0.
My issue with this is that Chante got 60 years, The guys got 10 and 9 years for their part in this coverup but “T”, star witness for the proscecution, High priestess of Manipulation, and the catalyst for the whole mess (who by the way purgered herself on the stand) got IMMUNITY.
I am not a lawyer but I think I heard Drug distribution, Driving under the influence, Failure to render aid (accomplice after the fact), evidence tampering, drug possesion…
I can’t take a candy bar in a movie theater and this happens… Oh no!! Texas!!! C’mon now.!
She gave up her sista so This sista gives her up.

Ben, murder is exactly the crime Chante committed. In your own words, murder is causing injury to a person with the intent to harm. Leaving a man lodged in your windshield knowing full well that he will die without the aid that only you can provide or allow is definitely intent to harm. Hitting him was not intended. Allowing him to die unaided was intended. And that is murder!
I am about sick and tired of the whole race issue. It only seems to come up when it is convenient for white america. No one cares that blacks are being gunned down daily by each other. No one cares about the homeless on the streets. How many of us have helped the homeless black or white? We don’t give a second thought about reading the obituary of a homeless man or woman or child who died from hunger or untreated illness. No one helps or hears. But now we can use the death of a poor homeless man for our own agendas. Why? Why so much stupidity. On 911 we all were one. How soon we forget! how can anymore compare the accidental death of Mr. Biggs to a fully planned and executed death of Mr. Byrd. Only when it fits the racist agenda of white america. If the roles would have been reversed we would have only heard about this case in passing. And white america wake and realize that alot of your sons and daughters are one beer or joint or x pill away from being the next Chante Mallard! This isn’t about race it is really about integrity. All she really needed that night was an ounce of integrity and all of this could have been avoided. Not being a different race!
You may have heard about Pennsylvania State Representative Thomas Druce in the news – maybe
not. It is one more fine example of one of our representatives serving our
community and dedicating his life to public service. Tom was recently
indicted on 2 criminal counts: Vehicular Homicide and Insurance Fraud. Bail
was set at $20,000.00.
It was an ordinary day – just another day of the week.
Anyway, Tom was just driving down the street one night when he allegedly struck and killed a Black man in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in July, 1999.
Did he stop? Well not quite. 7 months later, after being found out, he states that he thought he “hit a sign”. The investigators found hair, skin, blood and clothing particles under the wheel cover. I don’t think Tom got to those spots when he was washing the car – on just another day in the life of a State Legislator.
How a sign can jump up and hit the front of the car and the wind shield too is beyond me. Must have been one of those glass seeking signs that globally positions itself. Sort of like the “single bullet” theory when JFK was
assassinated.
In any event it was a memorable Christmas ‘99 for Tom. Someone sent the investigators an anonymous card and told them to look to Tom Druce as the
responsible party for the death of the black pedestrian.
A short time after Tom “hit the sign” he was questioned by two of his fellow
workers about the accident. Tom denied any involvement – back in July, 1999.
Then he told his insurance company that he had the accident on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
Shortly after, he had the utility vehicle – a Pennsylvania State leased vehicle – thank you Mr. & Mrs. Taxpayer – repaired about an hour north of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – in Warrington, Pennsylvania.
I live about 5 minutes from the repair shop – Malcolm’s. Just so happens that Malcolm’s still had the Tom Druce bumper when the investigators
questioned them. It was all over TV and in plain view of the cameras.
Then the vehicle was taken into the New York area. Tom proceeded to obtain a brand new utility vehicle. Again at taxpayer’s expense.
One irony in this pathetic mess is that in 1996 Mr. Tom voted for a bill that imposed a mandatory
1 year prison sentence for anyone leaving the scene of a Vehicular Homicide.
That must have been in his “Church Going” days. The man was righteous!
He was a rising star in the Pennsylvania House. Now the other legislators are distancing
themselves from him. Even though behind the scenes his republican cronies held a fund raiser for Tom’s legal defense. Many of Tom’s constiuents in suburbia raised money too. Not many people like to be Reborn into the role of a
Sinner.
Next comes the trial, another taxpayer expense. The various groups who will rally and protest, whatever conviction he might get; the tearful and
remorseful “statement” from Thomas and then we will be back to business as
usual.
To date Tom is still out on bail with a new lucrative job. Tom will be back out on the streets and maybe – who
knows – might even try for a comeback.
Never mind that he has ruined the victim’s family forever.
State Reps. LeAnna Washington and Harold James, D-Phila, are hoping that the final disposition of a hit-and-run case will not serve as an example of how much disparity there is in the criminal justice system.
“Being on parole with an electronic monitoring bracelet is not the same thing as being in jail,” he said. “Druce is actively working and living at home with his family. How many other criminals get to do what he is doing?
“If the court decides to give him credit toward his prison sentence for his time under home confinement, I know of a great many other inmates who could benefit from a similar exchange, and we could also save money for taxpayers.
“In addition, Druce has yet to serve the one-year minimum mandatory prison sentence for leaving the scene of fatal accident, which he pled guilty to, and voted to implement when he was a legislator,” James said.
In a few years Tom will have a few grey hairs and they might even put him up for Statesman.
why do we put up with niggers? I’m confused…. In the day, this black cunt would have been dragged to death.. Why are we waiting on the “JUSTICE” system? I hate niggers.
