The Sporting News’ Tom Dienhart reports “Texas fans shouldn’t wig out about rumors that the option will be a big part of the offense this fall. Coordinator Greg Davis used the offense a few times during spring scrimmages with hopes of using it occasionally this fall. Some fanatics thought news of an option sighting was a signal the coaching staff was planning to use backup QB Chance Mock, who is proficient in the option, more this fall than incumbent Chris Simms.
