Epson Sucks

October 1, 2002

And that’s putting it mildly. I have never been all that impressed with simple plain text printing from my Stylus Color 740. Now the POC will not print at all. No amount of cleaning seems to work. New cartridges don’t help either. I have major buyers remorse and will never buy an Epson again. Judging by these comments I am not the only one.

I too will never buy another Epson. I have the RX620 and the mis-feeds are so bad I no longer even try to print anything.

The problem lies in that the printer has only one feeding wheel. Pure junk, I will be going back to HP when I get the extra money from my pension account.

I bought three epson printers in the course of a year and they are all junk now! Two reasons for buying new printers (1) it was cheaper to buy a new printer than to buy all new ink! (2) past experience with clogged print heads. The status on them today is they are all junk, not one will print correctly as i tried throwing in full cartridges. What load of crap, but epson makes the only affordable printer that prints directly on cds. So my next buy i guess will be another DISPOSABLE epson printer, what a waste!

I will never buy another EPSON product! Spent a lot of $$ on the 1520 and before long the paper feed stopped working so that each sheet has to be hand fed and even then it doesn't work half the time. Also no new drivers for OS X. No customer service response to e-mails etc etc. Phone service worthless. I will say that print quality is very good when using their expensive paper but when it takes 10 minutes to get ONE sheet of paper to feed it's hardly worth the trouble.

The reason EPSON sucks so much is becuase of the print heads, they are not built into the ink cartridge. This means it has to clean itself more often. Switch to an HP they are the highest quality and the cheapest to maintain. The printhead is on the ink cartridge and requires almost NO cleaning at all. STAY AWAY FROM LEXMARK though! The put the printhead on the ink cartridge, but they suck down ink faster than all the printers out there!

Had enough of the POS EPSON printer tonight, so I shot the bastard 3 times.

Should have done it soon after I bought it.

Complete rubbish & ZERO tech help worth the name.

Now to find a printer that works........

You people who rubbish the Epson printers probably have not done your homework. I have a Stylus Photo 700 and most of the print nozzles had dried up due to lack of use. I persevered with the "windex" treatment via an old cartridge and finally got all nozzles firing again. I now use it at least once a week and it is going fine!

I bought an Epson C60 color inkjet that sucks! I can never get it to print without missing colors or lines, and no amount of cleaning or aligning helps. It is noisy and annoying.

I am a computer engineer and cannot believe a company would market such crap. Epson sucks. I would never recommend an Epson product to a friend or family member.

I will never buy another Epson product of any kind. I got an Epson printer-"all in one" 1000 model- it got one paper jam and it was toast. They sent me another printer- a refurbished one, and it worked fine until guess what? it got a paper jam and that was it. So they sent me out another replacement, also refurbished, and two months later it got a paper jam and it too was history. Now you might think I am doing something wrong- but I have followed their instructions, after the second printer I would call support when I got a jam, thinking it must be me, I followed their intstructions, and the printer still was no good. They sent me a third replacement, another refurbished one and you guessed it, it was no good after its first paper jam, now they tell me I am off warranty and too bad, I will have to truck this last piece of crap to their repair shop and PAY them to fix it. It isn't worth the trip. From now on it will HP all the way.

I have had a Stylus Colour 680 for two years now, only because I can't afford to replace it.

    The software is "user hostile".

I have had more misfeeds than a French machinegun.

I dare not print odd then even pages of a document as it will double feed & ruin the lot.

It autocleans frequently & therefore wastes ink.

    Epson's tech "help" ISN'T.

Paper jams on labels are 100% guaranteed.

    In a word:

    RUBBISH

    Epson c60 stylus

I only use my black ink, my printer said i was out of black ink. I went to the store and got a new black ink cartridge and when I put it in it told me i need color too. but, it didn't do so till I made a trip to the store and replaced it, I don't even use color ink but I have to spend 40 dollars on color ink to use my black ink, give me a break!!!

I will never buy another Epson product as long as I live and I'll tell all my friends not to as well.

My Epson Stylus 660 is a piece of poo. I will NEVER but another Epson product--in fact, I didn't buy this as it was part of a computer package. Give my my HP back any time. I will gladly pay more. For some reason, it stacks commands and then launches into a loop in which it generates page after page (some pages with 2 characters on them!) of colorful gobbledegook.

Won't dump docs in queue; unplugging does not help.

epson wastes your ink. everytime i turn on the printer(stylus 820) it does its routine cleaning, and once a week it automatically performs its thorough cleaning. To the epson dudes, why don't you just let the human handle the cleaning when he wants to? You guys suck! I also have an epson stylus 480(a newer model) and it still sucks, it automatically cleans itself, it has a color cartridge and when it cleans it wastes ink, I seldom use the color cartridge, I remember I only used it once or twice, and after a several auto cleaning shit it's all gone. You epson dudes really suck!
  • D.Brown
Started with a 780, They replaced it with a 820, fixed the 820 once, and it still does not print photos worth a shit. JUNK. DO NOT BUY EPSON PRINTERS.
  • I am a new convert and I now agree. I am really disappointed in the cost of maintaining the epson c80 printer. Thought you might like to contribute to this web page:
